Samyang 21mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC CS
The Samyang 21mm F1.4 ED AS UMC CS Lens is a manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C or smaller sized sensor. Equivalent to standard - wide 31.5mm on 1.5x crop APS-C sensor, 34mm on 1.6x Crop (Canon M) or a standard 42mm lens on 2x crop MFT sensor. A great manual focus, low light lens, perfectly suited as a standard prime, fixed focal length walk around lens with general photographic applications.
The new Samyang 21mm adds to Samyangs existing lens line up, the 21mm fitting nicely between the current dedicated mirrorless lens series which are the wide angle 12mm and short telephoto 50mm lenses.
The Samyang 21mm features Samyang’s exceptional optical technology, with eight glass elements in seven optical groups, including one extra low dispersion lens (ED) and three glass aspherical lenses (ASP) to minimize the unnecessary light dispersion and deliver super high resolution throughout the centre to corner of image. The lens also features Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) to optimize the light penetration and minimize flare and ghost. With a minimum focusing distance of only 0.28m it is a versatile lens for relatively close focus work.
Fast f1.4 aperture with the 9 circular aperture blades are designed to offer subject separation and limited depth of field photography with beautiful out of focus areas (bokeh). The solid frame of the lens is made of high-strength aluminium alloy. As the lens is specifically designed for the mirrorless Compact System Cameras (CSC) such as Sony NEX / ILCE, Olympus PEN / OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Fujifilm X, and Canon EOS M series the Samyang 21mm is compact and lightweight, weighing approximately 275g, making it a very portable lens.
